So the stuff I got to see was:
Religious stuff by Joseph Führich, mostly drafts. I seriously doubt that that Jesus guy was really such a body building freak. Nice, anyways.
A really really interesting collection of portrait photography from 1900 to 1935. While the early portraits seem very static and formal, the later ones are very creative and contain some real avantgarde shots. You can really see the evolution of photography as a form of artistic expression. A must-see!
The big Rudolf von Alt retrospective. One of the most interesting naturalist painters, his later works have a little impressionist touch. Of course I found the architectural paintings to be a lot more interesting than the landscapes, but I'd really recommend to see the whole exhibition.
If you live in or around Vienna or if you're going to come over this year, visit the Albertina. Make sure to bring along your student ID and anything that may get you reduced admission, that place is expensive.
I'm off now, listening to the Dust Brothers, cooking potatoes, partying tonight.
